I liked the adventure the boys had, but more than that, the depth of friendship that was portrayed when each boy gives up a year of his life to save Pipkin.

It’s a fast paced tale, and one that leaves me wanting more. It’s much more when you imagine the happenings, and the voices being spoken in a haunting tone. The boys, fast friends as they are, travel through time and space to try and save Pipkin, and also find the meaning of Halloween. Eight costumed boys wait for their friend Pipkin at the haunted house outside their town. The Halloween Tree is set on Halloween night. I had heard of the author before, so it made me wonder if this book would be as good as his more “known” title. I chanced upon this book while finding titles that fit into the categories of a reading challenge.
